Description

The sun was blazing hot as my muscles burned and ached from work that day. My eyes stung with the sweat running down my face.  The sky was unmerciful from the lack of clouds. The air had been heavy that day.  The backbreaking labor of building fence left me famished.  A pulsing headache came as a result of fatigue and the birds singing endlessly proudly and loudly. With every breath I struggled.  The only comfort was the wind flying against me.  When the day was spent I would have scared off a skunk. The sweetness of honey refreshed my aching body and relieved my fatigue. Then back to work I went under that blazing unmerciful sun. That cursed fence.  The skunks would steer clear of me thanks to that cursed fence.  Sweat once again stung my face as fatigue came swiftly to my limbs.  In the end the fence was done and so was I.

Comparison

Money makes the world go round. While this expression has been used as an argument between the rich and poor, there is truth in the statement.  The world is slowly becoming a place where the poor stay poor and the rich get richer.  There are no if ands or buts about it.  The expression money talks is another good example.  Those with money have more say so in everything because they are more important to businesses.  Money shouldn’t have such great meaning however money does. Society has decided that those who look nicer are more worthy of having help in crisis.  Society holds up those that look nicer and have more.  Which in turn makes things very difficult for those who don’t fall into the catagorey of having money. Society has separated the people and divided them and now one is held above the other.  Granted some places aren’t that way however in the majority money allows for people to be respected, helped, and be able to get somewhere in life. These two figures of speech help explain the gap between the rich and poor.

Advocacy

I believe that more people should have generosity.  I also believe that our kids should have this quality instilled on them while they grow older.  I think volunteering at Fox Lake Farms helps young people learn generosity.  When volunteering at Fox Lake Farms kids learn the affects on animals and on other people of their volunteering.  These effects can help show young people that generosity has many pleasant results.

Seeing someone with no confidence start to gain confidence because of a horse that young person took care of. Maybe by taking care of a horse and helping the horse through pregnancy with special acts, young people could help bring a young colt or filly into existence.   Being given thanks by those who need help at Fox Lake Farms such as the older owners of the Farm. Witnessing these events could change a young person’s point of view and encourage the ideal of Generosity.

Narritive

An early hot morning started with volunteers putting a fence together.  The fence kept pigs and piglets in. The pigs and piglets escaped.  The pigs and piglets bothered the horses running under their feet.   The horses have uses in hippotherapy.  Hippotherapy is a big part of Fox Lake Farms. The pigs and piglets stopped therapy from being done.

The volunteers had to quickly put the fence back together. As the day proceeded many people had to take breaks. Some people nearly had heat strokes. The day was spent before the fence was rebuilt.  Building a fence is simple compared to catching all of the lost pigs and piglets.  Luckily the pigs and piglets traveled in groups.  Some pigs and piglets haven’t been put back in the fence yet. Enough pigs and piglets are back in.  The therapy can continue. The horses rarely trip over pigs now.Honestly some of us don't understand how horses can trip however on occasion the horse fall over. That might have to do with the fence being down again. Volunteers have more work to do.
